Peer Support Groups
Peer support groups are a form of non-professional help where individuals with shared life experiences, such as mental health conditions, addiction, or other challenges, come together to offer mutual support, understanding, and practical advice. These groups provide a safe, non-judgmental space for members to share their experiences, learn from each other's successes and struggles, and find hope and a sense of community through shared lived experience

Group Therapy
The main goals of a peer support group are to provide emotional and practical support, reduce feelings of isolation, and foster a sense of community among people with shared experiences, such as a mental health condition, addiction, or chronic illness. Key objectives include enhancing self-esteem, developing effective coping strategies, improving social skills, empowering members to manage their own well-being, and promoting personal growth.

During your initial sessions, we will gather information about your history, current concerns, and goals for therapy. If your concerns are related to sexual behavior or functioning, your intake will include questions about your sexual history. Subsequent sessions will involve exploring these issues through evidenced based interventions, dialogue, skill development, and optional assignments for personal development between sessions, All sessions are conducted via a HIPPA compliant, confidential, telehealth platform, called Simple Practice.

Yes, all mental health services are protected by confidentiality, and safety is a cornerstone of my practice. What you discuss in therapy remains private, with some legal exceptions (e.g., threat of harm to self or others, known or suspected child abuse, or knowledge of a vulnerable party that is being harmed such as a child or senior). Mandatory reporting includes reported or suspected possession or distribution of child sexual abuse material (elecronic or physical, and includes AI generated or cartoons). For more information please refer to both California and Federal Laws.
In general, the sharing of thoughts, fantasies, desires, dreams, beliefs (without specific behaviors, plans, or targets) are not reportable. It is of utmost importance to me that clients understand these limits, especially considering the sensitive nature of sexual health topics. If you have specific questions regarding where certain behaviors fall, I am always receptive to discussing these topics. -
